
Clearwater Councilmember Bob Cundiff will visit with residents who come to the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Avenue, on Thursday, April 26, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
To keep in contact with residents, Dr. Bob visits each of Clearwater’s five libraries twice during the year. Those who come can visit with the councilmember, ask questions and have some coffee.
Here is the tentative list of visits for the rest of 2018 (subject to change):

May 16 Beach Library – 4-5 pm
June 5 Countryside Lib. – 5:30-6:30 pm
July 18 North Greenwood Lib. – 6-7 pm

Special guest speaker is Joe Maddon, Chicago Cubs Cubs Manager, who is the 2018 Dreammaker Awardee.

At the North Greenwood Aquatic Center, hundreds of residents, city officials, and many of the city services, joined in the 34th Annual Leadership Breakfast.
The program, “Preparing a New Generation for a New Struggle,” included a presentation of colors by the Clearwater Police Department Honor Guard.
Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos and the Clearwater City Council members welcomed everyone, proclaiming Monday Martin Luther King Jr Day in Clearwater.
Marie Williams, a senior at Clearwater High School, sang “Climb Every Mountain.”
Several other songs were sung, and dignitaries introduced before Pastor Norma Philberts spoke.
An inspirational program, great food, as always, and a good time to get together with friends, remembering the contributions and life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
After the breakfast, a parade march to Coachman Park is planned.
The annual event is sponsored and planned by the Clearwater/Upper Pinellas Branch of the NAACP.
The Hobby Lobby Grand Opening, January 8, was a great event which included a ribbon-cutting, coffee and treats, with a large number of shoppers as the doors opened at Clearwater’s newest store.
Mayor George Cretekos and the City Council, members of the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, and others joined in welcoming Hobby Lobby to Clearwater.

Thanks to Clearwater Council member Doreen Caudell, the photographic record is clear that I enjoyed helping shoppers feel at home by pouring coffee; orange juice was available and other tasty treats.
I also came home with a small purchase–just the right jute webbing I needed to finish the bottom of an old loveseat a friend is reupholstering for me.
New Hobby Lobby employees joined those who transferred in from other Hobby Lobby stores.
This is the first Hobby Lobby in the Tampa Bay region; customers said they were happy for Hobby Lobby’s huge new facility in Clearwater.
Hobby Lobby is located on US 19 and Sunset Point Road, next to Barnes & Noble in Clearwater, Florida.
Invited by good friends Bill and Lucia Rider, Dr Bob enjoyed a home-made meal featuring lasagna, one of his favorites.
Joined by their mother, daughter, granddaughters and another friend, we watched the children open a few presents and shared the good cheer that attends the celebration of the Lord’s birth.
Entertaining myself singing Christmas songs, we thanked those who contributed.
Merry Christmas! At this time of year, I am trying to focus on the truth of the miracle at the manger and helping those less fortunate than I! God bless us all, everyone.

The Nebraska Theatre Caravan presented Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida, with two performances at 2pm and 7pm to large crowds of young and old.

Adapted for the stage by Charles Jones, the production featured outstanding acting, singing, dancing by a large cast from the professional touring wing of the Omaha Community Playhouse.

This was an annual Christmas event enjoyed by Dr. Bob, who said he enjoyed the fantastic set, costumes, lighting and music.

This adaptation has been performed across the country for 35 consecutive years, according to the printed program.

Cundiff votes that REH continues bringing it back to Clearwater every year.
