Because of my work with the Clearwater Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, I discovered our Chapter could donate an American flag and flagpole to display outside each new Clearwater Habitat for Humanity home. U.S. Congressman Charlie Crist often donates a beautiful flag which has flown over the U.S. Capitol building, and suitable for display inside the house–forever. The flag the SAR donates is more suitable for outside, and can easily be replaced when it shows signs of wear. Here’s the Piantadosi family receiving their flag. This home was the 400th Habitat home finished and dedicated in Pinellas County.
