Mayor George Cretekos and host of other volunteers did some great work today and, according to Howard McLymont, “they cut down trees for elderly, cut lawns and cleaned up roads.”
I was not able to stay and help, but the Mayor, Pastor James Williams, Pastor Carlton Childs, Bruce Rector and Steve Cleveland were among the hard workers today. The Mt. Olive Community Development Corporation organized the event.
Mayor Cretekos wrote that volunteers from throughout the county came to help.
Workers were cautioned to keep hydrated, and water, sunscreen and other necessities were provided.
The Boy Scouts helped, as did Keep Pinellas Beautiful.
It was amazing to see what people working together, volunteering to help their community, can accomplish. God bless you all.
