As part of my responsibilities on the Clearwater City Council, I met today with the Tampa Bay Estuary Board of Directors, of which I am a member, along with other counties and cities officials, marine scientists, and Fish and Wildlife personnel–a great group of people. The Tampa Bay Estuary Program is a great organization. Their web page is http://www.tbep.org, and according to their site,
The mission of the Tampa Bay Estuary Program is to build partnerships to restore and protect Tampa Bay through implementation of a scientifically sound, community-based management plan. The Tampa Bay Estuary Program was created by Congress in 1991 to assist the community in restoring and protecting Florida’s largest open-water estuary.
I hope you’ll visit their site, and see what you can do to help the organization fulfill its mission.
